The technological assets of our research center are enriched by a new laboratory. Designed specifically to simulate a driving position, the new simulator installed at the MiBTec facilities is characterized by the presence of a mechanical platform with a real driving position and driving console, which reproduces exactly, through a 3D visualization, a city with city traffic, traffic lights and hurdles.
Through this simulation we will be able to verify different aspects and psychological factors involved in attention while driving, but also test the effectiveness of different haptic-visual interfaces to support driving, or again, analyze driving behavior in risky situations . This is just the beginning and the research possibilities that open up are almost endless.
In a world where mobility is increasingly looking for safe and eco-friendly solutions, this tool will allow us to make a significant contribution to the investigation of the human factors involved in interaction with the cars of the future.
